Did you know that there is only one other collectible card game that has been around longer than HKK, and that is Magic? It's almost unbelievable that a Hungarian fantasy game has been going strong for so many years! Many congratulations!
The game will be 30 years old this September, and to celebrate, a special expansion pack was released a few days ago:

To my surprise, one of my illustrations also appeared in this package. Little Charm was created last year, but now is the time to reveal it:
You can see it in large format here:

I first encountered the game when the first or second edition was published, nearly thirty years ago. I didn't play it, but my dad and his friends used to play it on the table. That was nearly thirty years ago. That's crazy!
I got into the game with the fifth edition, sometime around 2000. I got two base decks for my birthday, and we played with them countless times. That's when I encountered the infinitely hated Cursegnome, the ever-growing Puff, Smack the rabbit hunter, and even Spiky Tony. And yeah, the names even funnier in Hungarian! I still have these cards to this day, although we didn't know about card sleeves back then, so... they're perfect for my own collection. :)
After that, I continued to collect smaller and larger packs for years. I loved my vampire deck, the mutanst with ten different arms, and the Mumble creature without a text box. We played for a few more years in high school, but then Yu-Gi-Oh! took over the player base.
Then came 2022, when I returned to this world. No longer as a player, but as an illustrator. But it would be nice to play a retro game one weekend. :)
What old memories do you have of HKK?
